RUMAH SAKIT KADIPOLO

Rumah Sakit Kadipolo

LOCATED on Dr. Rajiman street, the building erected on around 5.38 acre ground was built in the reign of Paku Buwana X. Due to the financial problem, this building was given to the regional government to manage under one condition: financial discount on medical expenses for the royal family and officers . The government then ran this hospital, Mangkubumen hospital, and Jebres hospital under the same management. In 1960, the royal family gave Kadipolo hospital together with the employees to the regional government of Surakarta.

In, 1960, the government merged Kadipolo hospital, Jebres hospital, and Mangkubumen hospital under one director, dr. Sutedjo. Each hospital developed its specialty. Jebres hospital was for children, Kadipolo hospital was for internal deseases and pregnancy, and Mangkubumen hospital was for accident casualties.

On 1 August 1976, patients of Kadipolo hospital were moved to Mangkubumen hospital as it would be used for an SPK (Nursery School). In early April 1977, all patients were moved.

In April 1977, SPK was officially founded and started using Kadipolo hospital. SPK only used this building for 5 years because the Ministry of Health in Jakarta gave an order to empty the hospital. SPK was then moved to Mojosongo area.

Since 1985 this building has been used by Arseto (the local football team) as the residence of the football players. Unfortunately, most parts of the building are now abandoned.
