This building was built in Januari 1927 by the government of the Kasunanan Kingdom. It was used for HIS (Hollandsch Inlandsch School) Pamardi Putri. Before that, this building was used for the women closely related to the royal family. A similar building used for men is called Gedung Ksatriyan.
